Had To Say Hello....

Hello to all of you! How I miss you all so much... Thanks for the sweet comments you left. I truly have some loving and thoughtful friends in blog land! Honey and I are having a wonderful time... It has been a while since we have just rested and enjoyed... I still have a little more than a week to go... I will be back September 1; I have so much to tell you!

I saw the most beautiful flowers and had to have a picture of them... They are just beautiful, but what are they? I am pretty good with naming most flowers, but these well I have not a clue do you? I would love to know....

I am sure I will get another quick post in, but until then take care and I will see you soon!

Just a Little Break....

I will be taking a little blogging break... The summer is almost at its end, and Honey and I decided to take some time out just to relax and take in the sights and sounds of summer... I will not be gone long, but I do plan to have loads of fun...

Time together is time well spent

Stitching Flowers....

Hope each of you had a beautiful week and weekend.... My self, my week was good and I must say very restful. Honey and I even slept in a bit this morning... What beautiful summer mornings we have been having here. I just love summer, and I love to hear your summer stories of weather, travel, gardening, new babies, weddings, vacations, all those summer perfect events!

The week also gave me time to practice my new craft..... Well what do you think! I think I am getting better... Honey even went to our local library to get some books on embroidery to help me out. You know you can manage some pretty flowers with the lazy daisy stitch, and it is a great beginner stitch. This new venture of free hand embroidery suits me well because when it comes to following pattern details I get lost! That is one of the reasons I have been forced to come up with my own.. You know what they say.... Necessity is the mother of invention. I do plan to take another step next week and either make a tiny pillow or a small sachet bag with a little flower on front. I am a little nervous about actually making something... It is a whole lot different than just stitching on flat cloth.

The sun is going down, and the start of a new week is upon us. For many it has already begun. I was going through my poems and readings and found this one. It is so cute I had to share it with you...

Recipe For A Happy Day

1 cup of friendly words
2 heaping cups of understanding
4 heaping teaspoons of time and patience
Pinch of warm personality, a dash of humor

Instructions for Mixing

Measure words carefully. Add heaping cups of understanding,
use generous amounts of time and patience.
Cook on the front burner, but keep temperature low; do not boil.
Add a generous dash of humor, and a pinch of warm personality.

Note Cards, Thoughts, and Awards......

Each morning when I open my eyes to greet a brand new day, I take a deep breath and with a big smile give thanks for my life... No it has not always been that way, but I think it is something about coming of age...growing older, getting better, becoming wiser, seeing this life in a totally different light. Something that slowly changes you into becoming a different kind of human being. Sometimes I do not even recognize myself! You realize just how precious each moment really is...living in the now and loving it! Oh, but there is something I must tell you, for me, just getting older was not the key. Because we all know some cranky, ain't learn nothing, boy what's wrong with her kinda people! It was a deep soul searching and a complete willingness and desire to experience life in a way I know my Lord and Savior desired for me and what I desired for myself.... Each and everyday I am learning, but I think the key is....I am willing..

As promised, I have some photos of my contribution to the Auction for Krystal... Many of you may know I just love paper! Especially beautiful patterned papers, card stock, watercolor paper, all of it! So I decided to make a set of note cards with three large tags and envelopes and tied it all with a pretty ribbon. Don't you just love handmade cards, it is something special about them and anything someone takes the time to make with their hands...that's why I think Crafters are so special.
In my beginning posts, I remember just how excited I was about my soon to be coming website.... I had a major set back, but I am taking it on again in the Fall! You know those things are hard work!(smile) I just shutter when I hear the word Gallery! I know it will all be worth it upon completion...

Another thing that happened this week was my receiving A "Nice Matters Award" by both Alison and Lynda. A "Schmooze Award" by sweet Tracy, and was given a "Natural Wonders Tag" by Karen... You ladies are just wonderful, I am both honored and humbled and I must say delighted by it all....Thank you so much. Beautiful women like you are the reason why I keep returning to my computer...

My embroidery is coming along pretty well, I really love this.... And as mention before, you must see the work of Alison, it is just beautiful....

Pretty In Pink....

Oh how I was looking forward to making this post. It has been a few days longer than a normal posting for me... The last week has been a busy and full one. I finished my donation for the Auction for Krystal, and it was off in the mail this morning... Our prayers are with her and all involved, and believe all will be well... Thank you so much Tracy and Evelyn for all you do.... I will have pictures of my handmade gift to the Auction on my next post...

I've been busily finishing my pincushions and here they are... It was a joy working with this particular felt after all... I really enjoyed myself. I named the set Pretty In Pink... I even topped the little round one with an embroidered daisy , a good way to get some practice... My favorite are the berries, especially the beaded one... Being my own patterns, I would love to share them by way of a tutorial with you... Hmmmm I do not have a date in mind as yet, but I will keep this at the top of my soon to do list... I am now looking towards completing my PIF winners goodies...

I plan to get some embroidery practice in this week... Alison was kind enough to send me a list of links and product sources. Thank you so much Alison... I really love this craft, and had to ask myself where has it been all my life....But then I know it came into my life just when it was supposed to..(smile).

Simple Abundance...

As I sit quietly, enjoying the cool breeze of the fan on my face.... I started to think on the many blessing that have been graciously bestowed upon me, and wanted to share a thought with you...

After reading a book many years ago that talk about simple abundance, and practicing the art of appreciation and gratitude. I decided to make a sincere effort and make this simply seemed concept a part of my daily life... I started slowly... I begin to journal "Thanksgivings", and made an effort not to miss a day of journaling. Well this practice of gratitude and thanksgiving is a natural part of my life now... One of the simple things in life I love so very much as many of you know is flowers, especially the rose... I've been asked if all the roses on the blog are mine. Well I guess you can say that, Honey and I love to photograph flowers especially roses... We could spend a whole day looking for the perfect flowers to photograph... I am looking forward to someday having a huge rose garden with roses in every hue... and I am sure this would be the place I would spend most of my day...

Another of those simple things I love so much, is this picture of a darling in her Easter best and pretty ruffled socks who grace the wall of my living room... she is so special to me. I call her "Every Little Girl"... Because so many people who see her often say she looks just like someone they know... She even reminds me of myself at ten years old. I really love this picture, and I must say it is my favorite... I hope that each of us always remember to count our many blessing, and do not allow the seemingly simple things to go unnoticed....

A rose, like a friend, grows strong through the years;
